The Future of Museums, a talk by Julien Chapuis
Which is the contribution that the way we show art can make to contemporary society?
The idea for Museology and Values. Art and Human Dignity in the 21st Century arises from the Florence cathedral Foundation’s recent experience in designing a new installation for the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo, and seeks to stimulate exchange among museum professionals on the role of historic art in today’s global culture.
Invited speakers and round-table participants will discuss, from a museological and museographical point of view, the critical issues every museums face in communicating and presenting the works of the past to the observers of today.
Which is the contribution that the way we show art can make to contemporary society?
Starting from today, we will reveal some of the contents of keynote speakers' contributions that will attend the first day of the symposium, starting from Julien Chapuis, Deputy Director of the Bode Museum of Berlin, who will talk about “The Future of Museums”.
