Rooms of the Museum
Belvedere della Cupola
Second FloorIn this split-level room, a skylight offers an unusual view of Brunelleschi's construction and you can see from above the large wooden model of Brunelleschi's masterpiece in the underlying Galleria della Cupola. In the same room are exposed six Abruzzo reliefs from the first half of the fifteenth century, found in Castel di Sangro and placed in the stylistic context of Nicola di Guardiagrele, which reproduce compositional schemes of the first bronze door by Lorenzo Ghiberti for the Baptistery, confirming the influence of the work also beyond Florence and Tuscany.
