This drawing on paper, in watercolour and brown and red ink, represents a structural plan for the facade of Santa Maria del Fiore, drawn up in 1875 by the architect in charge of executing the new front, Emilio De Fabris. The works had started in 1871 but, following some disputes with the Cathedral ministry, they would be only be resumed in the year of drawing up this plan. Here we can see the mortises, the joints for the corbels of the gallery, and the voids corresponding to the gallery of sculpture niches across the median band.
