The "Brunelleschi Bookshop" of the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore opens to the public
For the occasion, the exhibition of drawings by the architect Roberto Corazzi entitled "Journey inside the Cupola" will be inaugurated
Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore opens the "Brunelleschi Bookshop" inside the Antica Canonica di San Giovanni, Piazza San Giovanni n. 7, where one of the Opera ticket offices is also located. The inauguration will be held on Thursday 1 December 2022, at 3.00 pm.
At the same time, the exhibition of 22 drawings by the architect and university professor Roberto Corazzi, entitled "Journey inside the Cupola", will open to the public in the bookshop spaces, which will be open until 8 January 2023 with free admission. The drawings are part of a series that Corazzi, one of the leading scholars of Brunelleschi's dome, created to illustrate how one of the most spectacular and enigmatic constructions of all time was built.
In the "Brunelleschi Bookshop" it will be possible to purchase the publications published for the Opera of Santa Maria del Fiore and other selected products such as engravings and author photographs. A 20% discount will be applied to all volumes throughout the month of December. On sale there will also be some limited edition photographs by Aurelio Amendola, made exclusively for the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore. It is a series of 5 black and white photographs, signed and numbered (1/49), selected from those on display at the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo until 9 January 2023, the result of the photographic campaign on Michelangelo's Pietà Bandini , commissioned by the Opera after the recent restoration.
