Libreria Brunelleschi: Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore's Bookshop
A space dedicated to the sale of books and temporary exhibitions
The Brunelleschi Bookshop is located in the Antica Canonica di San Giovanni (Piazza San Giovanni n. 7), in front of the North Door of the Baptistery, where one of the Opera's ticket offices is located. Small in space, the Bookshop is a unique place where you can find special books published for the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore, many of which are now out of print, and other selected products dedicated to the monuments of Piazza del Duomo. In addition to acting as a Bookshop, it presents itself as a dynamic space dedicated to temporary exhibitions with a view to valorising and enjoying our Monumental Complex and the dialogue it has with the city of Florence.
Some photographs by Aurelio Amendola on Michelangelo's Pietà taken exclusively for Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore after the restoration of the work are currently on sale. These are photographs printed in a limited edition of 5 images 50x40 cm. in B/W on Multigrade de Luxe 44m RC Pearl paper, for a total of 50 copies per image, numbered (1/49), and autographed on the front. In the bookshop it is also possible to purchase other objects, mostly hand-made, created by local artisans or by niche companies, such as the soft wax and dry point engravings printed for the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore, depicting details of the Baptistery of San Giovanni, by the Florentine artist Lorenzo Giandotti.
The Brunelleschi Bookshop is open every day from 9:00 to 16:45.
