- Modello ricostruttivo della facciata medievale della Cattedrale
This modern scale model of the ancient medieval façade of Santa Maria del Fiore, in painted wood, was created by the architect Franco Gizdulich for the opening of the new museum layout in 2000. The ancient medieval front of the Cathedral, begun by Arnolfo di Cambio at the end of the 13th century, halted in the 1400s unfinished, and then demolished in 1587, is reconstructed on the basis of the most recent studies and ancient graphic sources. Most important of these was an ancient copy of a drawing by Poccetti, made on the eve of the dismantling.
