Silk vestments for the feast of Saint Reparata embroidered with colored silk threads and gold and silver foil, the work of XVII-half 18th-century Florentine craftsmen. The set of vestments used for the feast of Saint Reparata comprise a cope, a chasuble and two dalmatics (only one is on display), all in the same material and the same color. The vestments are in a plain red silk that emphasizes the decorative elements typical of many clothes, lay and religious alike, in the 18th century, with embroidered patterns drawn from nature. The floral patterns are extremely lifelike and the needlework uses delicately shaded tones to depict the colors of the petals on the flowers. The design is enhanced and defined by gold and silver foil applied to the silk.
