Feast of St. Reparata
On October 8, Santa Reparata is celebrated as a saint of the Catholic Church and co-patron saint of Florence.
The ancient Cathedral of Florence is dedicated to the worship of this holy because, according to legend, it was thanks to his miraculous intercession that on 8 October 406 b.C, the Florentines managed to repel the siege of the Ostrogoths Radagaiso. This marked the definitive triumph of Christianity in Florence and the victory over the barbarians allowed ancient Florentia to maintain its independence and preserve its original founded by the Romans, as well as all the buildings and the socio-political organization that city until then had given.
