Floor burial tomb slab found during excavations at the ancient basilica of Santa Reparata (1965-1973) at the level of the 14th century flooring.
The slab is in sandstone, rectangular; along the perimeter runs a Latin inscription engraved in Gothic characters, which refers us it is the burial of Neri di Gherardino delle Corti, chaplain of Saint Matthew, who died on 6 August 1347. In the internal part the presbyter lying in the catafalque, as if asleep, is portrayed in bas-relief, with his tonsured head resting on a pillow, the face of a rather young man with his eyes closed, his hands crossed over his abdomen and wearing a cope with a cross and collar ornated and gloves.
