- Lastra tombale dell'arcivescovo Francesco Silvestri da Cingoli
Rectangular floor tomb slab, in sandstone, found during the excavations of the remains of the ancient basilica of Santa Reparata (1965-1973) at the level of the 1200-1300 floor.
In the center of the slab stands the effigy in bas relief of the deceased, Francesco Salvestri da Cingoli, bishop of Florence from 1323 to 1341. Despite the consumption of the relief, we can recognize the effigy of the prelate lying as if asleep, with hands crossed on the belly, in bishop's clothes, with a damask cope, gloves, miter and crosier at his side. His face, slightly turned on one side, was quite distinctive. His head rests on a tasseled pillow. An inscription runs around it in Gothic characters which recalls his name, position and the day of his death: 21 October 1341.
