or Dante and the Baptistery

A special itinerary with the eyes of Dante and his verses as guide powerfully and expressively evokes the stories and images represented in the cycle of mosaics inside the Baptistery. Through what the Poet saw and masterfully described, visitors will discover how much beauty the Divine Comedy owes to the “Handsome San Giovanni”. The itinerary ends with a visit to the Baptistery.

The lesson is offered only in the month of March on the occasion of the anniversary of the Baptism of Dante Alighieri.

Clothing and accesories in the stained-glass window of the Cathedral

A lecture that talks about fashion, costume, and exquisite craftsmanship in Tuscany in the XV century, studying the Stained-glass Windows in which the authors represented the Saints wearing clothing and accessories in the latest fashion. The lesson ends with a visit to the Sala del Tesoro and the Stained-glass Windows of the Cathedral.

Opera and Fabbrica - New

The great Gothic construction sites of Florence and Milan and the city's identity

Workers, bricklayers, unskilled workers, carpenters, sculptors, glaziers, architects, artists, clients: the construction of the Cathedrals required the collective work of an entire company, which in the building site was shaped by confronting experiences from all over Europe. A path, created in collaboration between the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo in Milan and the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence to explore the differences between Central Italian and Milanese Gothic, between the Republic and the Duchy, to understand how the two cities expressed their their identity and their history through art.
At the end, a visit to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence is scheduled.
It is possible to provide for a combined route between the two locations for educational trips.
